Over the weekend
November 29, 2008Saturday is a perfect day for me since I get to take a rest over a days’ work. But most especially, I get to eat food that I did not cook J. Well, during weekdays, I normally cook the food I bring in the office. I really love to cook that is why I make sure that I don’t buy food outside the office and instead cook food that I know is healthy and free from preservatives. (health conscious daw ba). That is why I decided to share the food that my family eat during weekend. Normally, its my mom who cooks food for us unless I’m in the mood to prepare one for them. I learned to cook through my mom. I always watch her cook and bake at the kitchen and that is how I learned the techniques in cooking and baking. One thing I learned from my mom is that she never uses any preservatives like monosodium glutamate or MSG in cooking. She sees to it that she brings out the natural taste of the food. Like when cooking sinigang, she still use fresh tamarind (sampalok) instead of those powdered seasonings that we see in the supermarket.
November 29, 2008, we had Fried Lumpia and Misua Soup. It’s a feel good food. The hot misua soup gives warmth to the body especially during this cold season. I prepared fried rice with assorted vegetables. I learned this cuisine when my cousin came home with this kind of food but the only difference was that it’s spicy. For dessert, we had banana cupcake, which my mom baked.

November 30, 2008, Sunday, we had Pata Tim cooked by my mom and spicy fried rice mixed with assorted vegetables which I personally cooked. As a dessert, I served the refrigerator cake drizzled with chocolate syrup which I prepared Saturday night. The cake is supposed to be just plain. However, I saw in our ref this Hershey chocolate syrup so I decided to drizzled it. And the effect looked good right? Ok ba ang plating ko. :p This is the reason why I love weekend so much.

What did you eat this weekend
