Amici Day
December 23, 2008Me and my Figaro buddies went out for a lunch at Amici located at Don Bosco compound, Makati City last December 19. Amici is famous for their pasta, pizza and gelato. It’s my first time there so I’m very much happy to be able to eat in that Italian restaurant. The place is cozy and ambiance is good. The interior of the restaurant has a good design. But most of all, the price is affordable. It is the reason why many people are eating even during lunch time. Aside from Makati, they have branches in Bellagio Square, Quezon City and in Level 3, SM Megamall.
Since Amici is Pasta, Pizza and Gelato, I had Spaghetti Aglio Olio E Pepperoncino ( Mildy spicy pasta dish in rich garlic and olive oil sauce) while my friends have the Spaghetti White Vongole E Gamberetti (famous sautéed mixed seafood on al dente spaghetti in olive oil) for pasta. Price ranges from Php175 to Php215. While enjoying the delicious taste of their pasta, our Capricciosa Pizza arrived. Capricciosa Pizza is made from cooked ham, Italian sausage and black olives. Price of their Pizza ranges from Php280 to Php340. Their pasta is good for one serving but I guess, if you have a small stomach, it can be shared (lol)
If you like your pasta in tomato sauce they have:
1. Spaghetti Al Pomodoro (Pasta tossed in a flavorful blend of classic tomato sauce, parmesan cheese and fresh basil)
2. Spaghetti Alla Bolognese (A delightful dish with your favorite meaty tomato sauce)
3. Cannelloni Agli Spinaci (An Amici classic favorite. Made from Pasta tubes filled with spinach and ricotta cheese topped with creamy tomato sauce)
4. Spinach Linguine Alla Puttanesca. (Homemade pasta with tomatoes, anchovies and black olives)
5. Spinach Fusili Montanara (Homemade fresh pasta served with sauce made with Italian sausages)
6. Spaghetti Red Vongole E Gamberetti (Amici Pride, Pasta served with special red sauce and bounties of the sea)
If you don’t like red sauce, they also have:
1. Lasagne Al Forno ( Creamy meat sauce and array of cheese layered in freshly baked pasta)
2. Spaghetti Alla Carbonara (Spaghetti pasta tossed in creamy white sauce with parmesan cheese and bacon bits)
3. Penne Al Salmone Affumicato (A distinct pasta dish with a rich flavor of smoked salmon)
4. Linguine Al Pesto Genovese (A fresh mix of basil pesto, potatoes and green beans)
Since we’ve already eaten pasta and pizza. What’s left is their Gelato. We checked on the available flavors and looking through all the varieties of Gelato made me want to taste all of them. Finally I’ve decided to taste their Mango Jubilee. What attracted me to choose that flavor was the fresh mango and berries (I think) included in it. On the other hand, my friends have is the Pistachio flavor. A scoop of Gelato cost Php50.00

We really had a wonderful lunch at Amici. And I’ll definitely come back to try their other flavors of Pasta, Pizza and Gelato. Amici is now my favorite Italian Restaurant aside from Aveneto J

I heard from someone that the resto was sold to the owner of Jollibee (though not sure if it’s true) so the taste somehow already differs from before when it was still managed by the priests. Well, for me taste still good
love the gamberetti pasta and margherita pizza… and don’t forget the pistachio gelato
