Honest Scrap Award
January 28, 2009
At long last, I’ve finally posted this one. This is my 2nd award this 2009. Thanks to Jo of Wits and Nuts for this award. I’m so touched and blessed to have a friend and mentor in blogging (hehehe) like you.
CYMA
January 24, 2009 And I’m back! After 2 weeks of waiting, my friends and I went back to Cyma, Greenbelt with a vengeance (lol). Last time, we only ordered for a family size Baby Clams Angel Hair Pasta which made us drool for more (take note we were only 3 then). That is why, we decided that when we come back it is not only the pasta that we will order. Friday, January 23, I made a reservation for 4 and made a special request to give a big table. True enough, upon arriving at the restaurant, our table is good for 6 person. Personally, I like the ambiance of Cyma. Its interior is just simple with no elaborate decorations.

My old phone. Sad that some of its skin has been chipped off already.

SBARRO
January 22, 2009
Sbarro is back. And it’s much bigger and brighter now. After being closed for more than a year, it’s finally open again in its new location at the new Glorietta 5.
(more…)Sbarro’s roots go back to Naples, Italy where for Gennaro and Carmela Sbarro the art of crafting Italian cuisine was a way of life. In 1956, the Sbarro family opened their first Salumeria (Italian Grocery Store) in Brooklyn, which was soon a neighborhood favorite for its exceptionally fresh food and authentic Italian fare, including homemade mozzarella, imported cheese, and delicious sausage and salami - (www.sbarro.com).
Renewing America’s Promise
January 21, 2009

(source: Yahoo)
January 20, 2009 at 12 noon (1 am Philippine Time) marks another milestone in the history of the United States of America. The first African-American, Barack Obama, took oath at the National Mall as the 44th President of the United States with the theme “Renewing America’s Promise”.
Though, not physically present in that event, the coverage of CNN made me feel part of the momentous occasion. As a viewer, I too, felt the sincerity of his actions, his presence and the speech he presented to the people. I felt that the hope for change is about to come not only for the Americans but also for the Philippines and other countries as well. I just hope that the change that the Americans have and will experience right now may also be experienced by us after we have selected the new President of the Philippines in 2010. And by that we too can say ” Yes Philippines, We Can…”

A Bad Day
January 17, 2009When its not your day, its not your day. What’s the worst thing that could happened to you at work? If you ask me, the worst thing and the stupid thing that happened to me was when I accidentally deleted all my current working files in my computer (whaaaaa) last Thursday, January 14. I was trying to back up my 2007 files in my external hard disk and CD after which, it’s time to delete them. I knew that its that folder that I will be deleting so I pressed shift+delete (I don’t retain deleted files in my recyled bin). And just for seconds, their gone. But its not only the 2007 files that were deleted, my 2008 files where in it. And for that short moment, my world stopped. I just don’t know what to do. I stared on my computer for seconds and nothing. All were really gone…
I immedietly went to our IT to have it restored but, incidentally, they have no tool available and will have to look in the internet. They told me not to save anything since it can still be recovered. what did I do after???? Nothing. If you’re going to ask me if I cried? Well NOOOO. Hahahaha. Since crying will not make my deleted files come back. Had I know this will happen, I’ve should have back-up also my current files. Oh well, who would have known that will happen anyway. Hayyyy. I just closed my laptop and went home.
If you can recommend a recovery tool, please let me know. I badly need those file….
POSTCROSSING
Last year I posted that a friend of mine introduced me to postcrossing. It’s a postcard crossing project where you send and receive post cards from members in all parts of the world. The goal of this project is to allow people to receive postcards from all over the world, for free. Well, almost free! The main idea is that: if you send a postcard, you will receive at least one back from a random Postcrosser from somewhere in the world.
First Week of Work in 2009
January 10, 2009
First Five days of work in 2009 was really something. Monday, January 5, was the busiest since there were lots of things to catch up after the long holidays. Expected emails from clients and colleagues are all coming in. Meetings have to be made to schedule our upcoming engagements. Whew, that was really something. Good thing that we were treated out for lunch by one of my officemate at Amici (yummy pizza, pasta and gelato). As the day goes a long, I was able to manage the work.
