The Island of Boracay
March 7, 2009Whenever I asked someone their favorite beach destination, they always say Boracay because of its soft white sand and the tranquility that you’ll experience when you’re there. True enough, Boracay is the heaven beach. I was able to visit this famous tourist destination to have my pre-summer vacation just this March 1 to 3.
One thing I look for in a beach is it’s convenience for road travel. I don’t like riding boats so I’m usually hesitant to travel by boat. But since there is no way I can visit Bora by land, I have to live with that. My flight to Bora is at 6:30am via Cebu Pacific, Caticlan. Need to be at the airport 2 hours before my flight schedule so I have to leave the house at 3:30am. My friend and I waited for our check in time of 6:am. Unfortunately we already checked in the plane past 7. There were only a few who will be going to caticlan that day so the plane was not that full. My friend even transferred to the other side to get a better aerial view. It’s good that the hotel that I got already covers for the round trip transfer so we don’t need to worry on anything.

We arrived our hotel past 9. After unpacking our things and changing to our beach attire, we already looked for a place to have our brunch.

While walking and at the same time already taking pictures of the beautiful island, we are also scouting for inexpensive water and land activities for our 2 days stay.

We headed at D Mall to find a place to eat. We tried Big Mouth which says that “come hungry, leave happy”.
Big Mouth Restaurant
We ordered Teriyaki Chicken, Pasta Pesto with Grilled Chicken and Ice Tea.
Chicken Teriyaki (Php 165.00)
Pasta Pesto with Grilled Chicken (Php 150.00)
Iced Tea (Php 40.00/ 55.00)
The food taste good and the serving is big. After that satisfying meal, we went around the D Mall for more shots and headed back to our hotel to freshen up for our ATV adventure.

I heard Panglao also and just the pics only in the magazine and i see that it’s beautiful too. Hope I can visit there to compare hehehe. Yes, Boracay has become too comercialized na nga kasi mura ng pumunta dun.kahit yung ibang residents ng bora nagtatampo kasi yung ibang mga bumibisita hindi naman inaalagaan at dinudumihan yung place
so sad lang.
Although in general maganda cya for first timers like me
buti na lang at ng pumunta ako eh konti pa lang tao or less I might be disappointed. hehehe
I love Boracay. I love the white, fine sand and the clear water. I would love to visit Boracay again.
Thanks for sharing all these beautiful shots of your Bora trip.

Cebu Pacific is now flying to Caticlan? The last time I went there was in 2007. That time Seair and Asian Spirit pa lang nag ooffer ng direct flights. But we traveled via PAL to Kalibo airport.
Great photos!

honestly, boaracay is not my favorite beach in the Philippines [Panglao is]. i find boracay too commercialized. however, it has been around 8 years since i’ve been to boracay and i guess a lot has changed. maybe its time for me to go back…
