Boracay ATV Adventure
March 11, 2009continued from The Island of Boracay
After freshening up, we started our first activity of the day, the All Terrain Vehicle adventure. They said that this is their newest activity in Bora. We got this one for P800.00 each for one hour. We headed to Bug & Car ATV by tricycle. Personnel of Bug & Car ATV gave us our protective gear, some short lecture on where we will go as well as on how to properly operate the ATV. After the short lecture, we had a short test drive of the ATV that we will use. I know how to drive but I’ve never driven a car for ages so driving this vehicles scares me. I panic immediately after the test drive so I decided to have our tour guide sat behind me to assist me during the travel.

We first went to ILig-iligan Beach. The road to the beach was smooth first but as we near the place, the road became too rough which made me panic more. This time, my guide was the one who drove the ATV for me. Upon arriving the beach, we noticed that there were not so many visitor in it. Actually I think we saw only a few people in that beach including the residents. According to our guide, it is because the waves were high during this time as compared to the side of Bora. But, around June, when the waves are high in Bora, this side of the beach is a good place to visit. The beach also looks virgin and not yet developed. After taking some pictures, we went to our next stop which is the Butterfly Farm.

Their butterfly farm is not that big. What surprised me to see was this beautiful cocoon of the butterfly.

I though it’s a semi-precious stone but it’s actually a cocoon. Entrance to the farm is P50.00. There were not so many butterflies in the farm. There were also bats and an owl inside.

After this tour, we returned the ATV and went back to our hotel and wait for the sunset… to be continued.

@Wits: wow you can bike all the way to Puka Beach? How long did it take you to go there? sayang nga di namin napuntahan yung Puka Beach. hehehe talagang misplaced yung image ni Virgin Mary. Hindi ko nga natanong bakit ganun yun. hehehe
Posted by upto6only at March 12, 2009, 8:29 amYes, biked from Station 2 to Puka Beach. It took us at least two hours yata. Kase we left the station at 3pm dumating kame dun malapit na ang sunset. As in nag-tan ako after that. Hahaha. Nakakatuwa rin dahil may stop over pa kame sa highway especially nung may makita kameng nagtitinda ng ice cream. Puka Beach is very lovely.

I think the image of Virgin Mary is a little misplaced. I’ve never been to this beach. I remember when we had the team outing in 2007, we were supposed to do this (inspired by the feature in Sports Unimited). But due to budget limits of the team, we went biking instead all the way to Puka Beach.
Great photos. My fave is the bat snap.
