From Lunch to Coffee Break at "The Zone"

Food Trippers had again another food invasion this time along The Zone in Malugay, Makati.  We decided to have a taste to the Happy Cream Puff which we read in Anton’s blog.  As soon as we reached Malugay and saw the Happy Cream Puff signage, we also saw JT Manukan, owned by the award-winning actor Mr. Joel Torre.  All of us were so excited since we have been hearing a lot of good reviews on this restaurant and one of the tripper actually had a chance to dine in one of its branches at QC.

Many were already dining at JT when we arrived. 

  

The place is generally clean and air-conditioned.  Although, if you prefer eating outside, they have chairs and tables set-up for customers.  Parking is just limited so you have to look around the vicinity of Malugay to park.  On the walls were pictures Joel Torre’s movies - from Oro Plata Mata to Ataul for rent. 

  

For our orders, we had:

 

Paa Chicken Leg and Thigh (Php 85.00)

 

Chiken Gizzard Baticolon (Php 38.00) and Chicken Bottom Isol (Php 50.00)

  

Chicken Liver Atay (Php 42.00) and Garlic Rice in Chicken Oil (Php 25.00)  extra chicken oil costs (Php 15.00)

  

Batchoy with egg (Php 95.00)

We find their barbeques so juicy as compared to other inasal restaurants around Makati.  Moreso, their price is also affordable.  Aside from that, they have delivery service.

Happy Cream Puff

 

After that hearty lunch, we had our dessert at Happy Cream Puff just beside JT Manukan. As you open the door, you’ll immediately fell in love with the scent of their cream puffs.  You’ll also see this tall cream puff tree which is edible.  

  

Their small cream puffs costs Php 20.00 while their big ones varies in price.

  

 

We ordered a variety of small cream puffs and it definitely tastes so good.  The cream is not that sweet and it’s freshly baked.

Rocci Coffee and Chocolate

 

Our dessert will not be complete without a steaming hot coffee.  That is why we stopped by a coffee shop beside Happy Cream Puff,  Rocci Coffee and Chocolate.  Like the other coffee shops, they have their signature coffee blends, frozen blends, cool coffee blends, frozent desserts, and pasta. 

 

Limited seats are only available so if you are many, you have to wait to be seated   I just don;t know if they have chairs and tables outside.
